Calculation method
This calculator uses the following planning method:
Cost per order = materials × (1 + waste %) + labor minutes ÷ 60 × hourly rate
Worked example
Materials totaling $1.42 with 5% waste become $1.49. Four minutes at $18/hour adds $1.20, for about $2.69 per order.
How to interpret the result
Use the total as an internal packing-cost baseline. Compare it by SKU, pack method, or month to find repeatable savings.
Assumptions and limitations
Postage, product cost, marketplace fees, rent, equipment depreciation, and taxes are excluded unless entered as other materials.
