Calculation method
This calculator uses the following planning method:
Center seam = 2 × (length + 2 × overhang); H-seal adds 4 × (width + 2 × overhang)
Worked example
For 100 cartons measuring 14 × 10 in with 2 in overhang, a center seam uses 3,600 in, or 300 ft, of tape.
How to interpret the result
Compare the total with roll length and add a shop-specific setup and waste allowance before ordering.
Assumptions and limitations
The model covers top and bottom seals. Reinforcement, poor adhesion, rework, tabs, and dispenser losses are excluded.
