Calculation method
This calculator uses the following planning method:
Wrap area = product surface area × layers × (1 + overlap percentage)
Worked example
A 10 × 6 × 4 in product has 248 in² of surface. Two layers plus 15% overlap require about 570.4 in², or 3.96 ft².
How to interpret the result
Divide the required area by your roll width to estimate a cut length, then round up for handling and corner coverage.
Assumptions and limitations
The product is modeled as a rectangular prism. Seams, corner bunching, fragile projections, and operator technique can increase use.
