What this calculator solves
Use Carton Count when a unit demand must be translated into whole shipping or storage cartons at a fixed capacity. It answers how many cartons are needed and how full the final carton is. Case Pack works in the opposite direction by totaling units already represented by cases and loose reserve.
How to choose the inputs
Enter the number of saleable or packed units required for the dispatch and the approved units per carton. Keep the unit definition consistent—each, pair, kit, or inner pack—and do not substitute a supplier’s outer-case quantity unless that is the actual packing plan.

How to interpret the result
The division is rounded upward because any remainder needs another carton. Use the final-carton quantity to plan a partial-carton label, filler, or consolidation decision. A large unused capacity may justify adjusting the dispatch quantity, but do not overfill beyond the approved case pack.
Common mistakes
- Mixing individual units with inner packs.
- Rounding down when a remainder exists.
- Assuming every carton may exceed the approved capacity.
- Ignoring a deliberately partial carton already open in inventory.
Assumptions and limitations
The calculation assumes identical units and a fixed count capacity. It does not check physical fit, carton weight, orientation, separators, partial-carton policy, or inventory already packed.
